Because the Aquagear filter removes up to 99% of chlorine, a disinfectant, algae may grow in an Aquagear Filter Pitcher a bit faster than it would in unfiltered tap water. That's why we recommend keeping your pitcher out of direct sunlight (in the fridge if possible) and washing it with hot, soapy water ever 2 weeks. Do not wash the filter itself, rinse only.
Why is there green in my pitcher?
